A better support for pregnant women where medical assistance is not available
Institut Cerba supports Opti'soins, a medical truck that travels the Auvergne region providing medical care for pregnant women. For midwife Marine Pranal, “the aim [...] is to bridge this gap in care by bringing care to patients, and to be able to take preventive action”.
In the truck: ultrasounds, childbirth preparation classes, early prenatal care, nutrition consultations, and even hypnosis relaxation sessions.
A wonderful project, offering comfort, reassurance and medical care to couples throughout their pregnancy.
Therapeutic octopuses for premature babies
Institut Cerba supports the "Aux 1001 mains" association which knits little cotton octopuses for premature babies in Marseille hospitals.
Created by Edwige Dominique, a laboratory technician at Cerballiance Marseille, the association brings together 50 volunteers who crochet dozens of little octopuses every month, whose tentacles will reassure premature babies and prevent them from ripping out their tubes.

Marion Lecorguillé won the "Solidarity Research" prize from the Institut Cerba and the CNSF (Collège National des Sages-Femmes de France) for this research project. In France, 15% of children are overweight and 5% obese. She explains why this is a major health problem, and outlines ways of combating childhood obesity.
